Unlike most snowmobile helmets, which are nothing more than modified street helmets, the Duke was designed from the ground up for winter use. It starts with an advanced fiberglass composite shell that is both Snell M2000 and DOT approved. A full two years of research went into designing the internal shape, which has been proven to be as comfortable as even the most expensive helmets on the market. From a protection standpoint, the high-tech dual-density eps liner represents an incredible safety advantage. By having a denser layer in the liner, hard, Snell-type impacts can be properly absorbed. Conversely, slower hits can be handled by the softer layer without transferring too much energy to the user?s head. The net result is class-leading protection and comfort. The extra-large, 144mm eyeport provides excellent range of vision. An anti-fog treated double lens and chin curtain combined with closeable chin venting direct air up the inside of the shield to help prevent fogging. For warmer temperatures, a closable ventilation system with a single port in front and two exit ports is extremely effective, thanks to its aerodynamically derived placement. Other features include specially formed ear pockets to accept Chatterbox or other speakers and a UV-resistant clear coat finish to keep the graphics and painting looking good for years.
